First stop is Nawate Dori, there was quite a gathering at the shrine neighboring the street. Only then did I realized it's shichigosan festivals, where boys and girls of respective age come to shrine and wishes for a healthy growth.
We visited Matsumoto castle after a quick lunch. Though rainy the whole day, the castle was full of tourists. At the top floor, the alps are outlined in different shades of grey. The highest at over 3 km above sea level.
We went through a few shopping streets in the afternoon. Had afternoon tea in a elegant teahouse where I tried maccha for the first time.
Tomorrow we are shifting to Takayama and staying for 2 nights.
