D7 Shirakawago

Today we got up late. Had a quick look around the shopping area at Takayama and went for lunch.
It was the second time we visit this restaurant. We visited it on D5, but was told it was full (we guessed). We had a nice lunch. Jon had more hida beef and I had loose sushi. They also gave us green tea ice cream for dessert. Probably because we were foreigner, the waitress gave us souvenirs too. Best restaurant ever!

The bus to Shirakawago took about 1.5 hour. We stayed at an almost 200 years old house with thatched roof. We visited the local open air museum. We were completely impressed at how the huts was built with no nail or screws.
We had home cooked dinner and breakfast at the house around the fire.

We walked up to the viewing platform after breakfast. It was breath taking; sun lighting up the fields and huts with snowy mountain as background. The town itself was so peaceful in the morning sun.
